.::Lost in This Moment Forever::.

A present for Shizza-sis () after the last chapter of Vampire Knight was kind of...a downer. I promised to draw her something after chapter 88 or something but time got away from me, so I asked her what she'd like me to draw, and she requested Yuuki having fallen asleep in Zero's bed after stroking his head to help him sleep. This is for something she's working on, though I won't say much more than that since it might end up ruining her plans XD.

The title is based on the song 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' by Aerosmith...the moment I started inking this, the song came to mind, and I listened to it on a loop for a quite a while during the time I worked on it XD.

ANYWAY! I would like to take some time to explain the colors! You can't see them well due to the lighting, but I'll post a clearer picture later on. Anyway, I put a lot of thought into the colors, since I was striving for symbolism and such...as well as something that looked aesthetically pleasing . I used a color website for help, so the definitions may not be accurate...but I had good intentions . I'll post the link at the end of the artist's comments.

The Blanket & Pillows-This is supposed to be a soft shade of turquoise. I wanted something calming, but also something symbolic of a gap being bridged between the two.

"Turquoise helps to open the lines of communication between the heart and the spoken word." Perhaps these two characters have not always been the best at communication, and this scene shows things slowly beginning to change for them, in that sense

"Turquoise controls and heals the emotions creating emotional balance and stability. In the process it can appear to be on an emotional roller coaster, up and down, until it balances itself." Yuuki was stroking Zero's head prior to this picture, the gesture being comforting...as well as this, as you can see, Zero is covered with scars, so it can also be symbolic of the physical healing of his character, as well as emotional. The two characters go on one heck of a journey to get to this point as well, so that's where the 'roller coaster' part applies .

It is also described as calming, and a color that lifts one's spirits, and alleviates the feeling of loneliness.

Yuuki's Nightgown-I was torn between white for purity, purple and pink. White is a cliché, and so I instead used a combination of purples and pinks.

Pink symbolizes 'unconditional love' and 'nurturing' which is something Yuuki is clearly doing in this picture. As it is a combination of red and white, it also combines passion with innocence, to create a gentle loving sense.

Purple "is an introspective color, allowing us to get in touch with our deeper thoughts." Yuuki is beginning to think differently about Zero, and is perhaps exploring her own thoughts and feelings regarding the hunter.

Yuuki's Ring
I chose to use a very small blue gem for Yuuki's ring for these reasons- "The color blue is one of trust, honesty and loyalty. It is sincere, reserved and quiet, and doesn't like to make a fuss or draw attention." I don't think they ever wanted to 'flaunt' their relationship, even under the AU circumstances here...if a deep relationship is developing between them, it's modest and starts off in little gestures, building into something bigger. I think the other reasons speak for themselves ;D.

Oh, the reason I chose silver rings as opposed to gold for both characters is this- " it is emotional, sensitive and mysterious." isn't that a cute way to picture Zeki? I think their relationship is complex, even if they don't always openly show their emotions, and as previously stated, it isn't showy so...can that equate to mysterious in some ways?

Now I'm rambling .
